Ceiling Repair
We were called to the Trevino residence to repair a section of drywall, a ceiling section,
which fell into the kitchen. While away from the home, the residence experienced a major water leak which occurred in an upstairs bathroom.
After specialists removed a section of drywall and completed drying out pipes and insulation, the hole in the ceiling remained.

Once the drywall is in place, Lalo begins applying joint compound to the exposed joints. After the joints have been covered with compound, joint tape is placed over the compound. The tape prevents the compound from cracking over time. After allowing the compound to dry, a second and then third coat of compound is applied to the joints. Each successive application of compound is done with a wider drywall knife to aid in "feathering" and blending the compound into the surrounding drywall.

Joint compound is also applied to the entire drywall sheet until the replacement drywall literally disappears into the existing ceiling.

Once repairs are complete, it's time to texture and paint the drywall section. A tent is fashioned to contain the aerosol texture. Once the tent is in place, texture and paint are applied.
