Patching Gypsum Board
Homeowners are often faced with repairs to sheetrock. Often these involve relatively large holes which must be patched.
In this case, the homeowner was concerned about water damage after a leak and opened up the
section of wall himself. An 8x11 inch piece of sheetrock was used to patch the damaged area. Once in place, the
outer edges were taped and joint compound was applied to the entire area. Once dried, normally a 24-hour period, the area was smoothed out with a damp sponge and textured.
